What We Do
We, as Industrial/Organizational
Psychologists, optimize human capital.
We, as BAAP, promote the value that we bring.
BAAP History
BAAP originally started in 1999 as an informal dinner group of Applied Psychologists. This group was meant to provide a local network for Applied Psychologists practicing in the greater San Francisco Bay Area as well as occasional professional support. It was at these casual, informal dinners that Bay Area Applied Psychologists could "talk shop" and discuss best practices, current trends, professional advice, business prospects, or swap "war stories." Within a short time, the group began to formalize itself, appointing positions such as steering committee chair, treasurer, and secretary. In addition, BAAP started to attract Applied Psychology students from nearby universities and students make up a significant portion of BAAP membership. Currently, BAAP continues to provide a local network and discussion forum for San Francisco Bay Area Applied Psychologist students and practitioners.
